Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote
San Diego Shows: January 17, 2026 & January 18, 2026
Role of Mother/River
World Premiere: Commissioned by Bodhi Tree Concerts, Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote is composed by Anthony Davis, with a libretto by Allan Havis and Spanish translations by Laura Fuentes. It is based on the children’s book of the same name by award-winning Mexican American author and illustrator Duncan Tonatiuh, with stage direction by J.Ed Araiza and in collaboration with Opera de Tijuana. The opera will include artists of all ages, and its purpose is to truthfully reflect border life, the life of migrant workers, and the families who love them.

Opera Santa Barbara: La Dolce Vita 2025
On Friday, March 28th, 2025, Santa Barbara’s most passionate opera aficionados will gather at the elegant Montecito Club for La Dolce Vita – Tre. This gala event will celebrate Opera Santa Barbara’s 31 years of presenting opera in all its many forms to enthusiastic audiences up and down the Central Coast.
This magical evening begins with a cocktail reception with panoramic ocean views, followed by a gourmet dinner in the magnificent ballroom featuring carefully-curated wines. Live performances of some most beloved arias, duets and trios by OSB artists will serenade guests throughout the evening.
All funds raised through sponsorships, donation, ticket sales and Stand Up for Opera will lay the groundwork for building Opera Santa Barbara’s exciting new 25-26 season of mainstage operas, free community concerts and educational programming serving more than 4,000 area Santa Barbara area residents and visitors.
